Our history
At some point it becomes confusing
Since the global success of Tetris, we are all fans of stacking up, but for wine storage this cannot be the principle. Especially since the most long sought Barolo is then just always in the lowest box.
So what can be done?

Urs Schaad, inventor of the CaveauStar***** Wine racks, was a wine merchant in Basel. Back in the old millennium, when it came to opening and, above all, furnishing a wine shop, the range of Wine racks was ugly and therefore not an option. So what to do?
Rolled up sleeves and put the idea on paper and then into the carpentry shop. Voilà!
PS: Enoteca Liechti took over the business from Urs Schaad and still has the Wine racks of the first generation. Plus a few newer models 😉 -> always worth a visit!

We only use local fir wood for our Wine racks. For years, the Schürch sawmill in Huttwil has supplied us with planed and practically flawless laths.
Off to production
Swiss craftsmanship
After delivery, the wood is cut to size and then assembled into modular Wine racks. We cultivate Swiss craftsmanship in a local carpentry workshop with a special educational mission.
This cooperation is an important building block of our philosophy and we are proud to have such a reliable partner.
